Bill Hicks died back in 1994, thirteen years ago on February 26. A contemporary of Sam Kinison, he helped  re-start the brief, but extremely entertaining trend towards comedians-as-true-social-commentators, originally started by Lenny Bruce, and still being weakly championed today by a declining George Carlin.

He's a throwback to a time when comedy was truly edgy and dangerous, rather than the plethora of pop-culture pablum we have in comedy today.
